OVIEDO, FL — July 15, 2026 — Global Frames Fest USA, a premier non-profit organization dedicated to championing independent cinema, has officially announced the upcoming launch of its call for entries for the 2027 global short film festival. The highly anticipated Early Bird submission window is scheduled to open on July 18, 2026, and will run through September 30, 2026.

Designed to celebrate diverse perspectives, the festival welcomes creative minds from all corners of the globe, regardless of their budget, region, or native language.

Submission Categories
To accommodate a wide array of narrative structures, the festival is accepting entries across three distinct short-form categories:

• 1-Minute World Stories — Fast-paced, high-impact narratives or conceptual stories restricted to a 60-second limit.
• 3 to 10-Minute Short-Shorts — Focused, tight storytelling that demonstrates masterclass pacing.
• 10 to 30-Minute Short Films — Extended narrative projects allowing for deeper character arcs and complex production values.

Guidelines, Judging, & Prizes
Global Frames Fest USA is highly inclusive, welcoming all non-English language submissions provided they are accompanied by English subtitles.
All entries will undergo a rigorous evaluation process by an esteemed, world-class jury panel consisting of veteran film professionals. Winners in each category will receive competitive cash prizes, alongside various prestigious awards and formal industry recognition.

The Grand Finale
The excitement culminates in February 2027 with a live screening of the festival’s official selections. Finalists and cinema enthusiasts will gather in the United States for an unforgettable theatrical showcase and a grand finale ceremony.

How to Submit
Filmmakers ready to share their voice can submit their work starting July 18th. To take advantage of discounted entry rates, creators are encouraged to submit during the Early Bird window ending September 30th.
