Freedom 1 Initiative
The Freedom 1 Initiative is the Florida Press Association’s contribution to America’s 250th celebration. Freedom 1 is a partnership between the Florida Press Association and the National Center for Constitutional Studies designed to promote education, awareness, and understanding of America’s founding documents.
During the 2026–2027 term, the FPA Board’s goal is to introduce a QR code through a series of print and digital house advertisements that will link directly to the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.
Through this initiative, the Florida Press Association hopes to encourage readers and communities across Florida to return to the foundational principles of American freedom by reading, sharing, and engaging with these historic documents in their original, unedited form.
