OLDSMAR, Fla., Aug. 27, 2026: With household budgets under pressure, Tampa Bay families now have a new way to make their money go further.
Suncoast Liquidators, a family-owned liquidation company operating from approximately 85,000 square feet in Oldsmar, has launched ATX Auctions Tampa Bay, a public online marketplace where shoppers can set their own bidding limits on retailer returns, overstock and other merchandise.
The inaugural auction is now live and runs through Sept. 6. It features nearly 800 lots, including electronics, furniture, mattresses, computers, lawn tools, ladders, toys, home décor, cleaning supplies, household goods and pantry items.
Customers can browse and bid from their phones or computers, then pick up their winning purchases locally at Suncoast’s warehouse at 375 Mears Blvd. in Oldsmar.
“We’re excited to give Tampa Bay families another way to make their money go further and introduce more people to the value available through liquidation,” said Jaret Miller, VP and COO of Suncoast Liquidators. “Online auctions may sound unfamiliar, but if you are comfortable shopping online, you can participate. You set your limit, bid from home and see what you can find. We want people to feel comfortable exploring the merchandise and experiencing the excitement of placing a winning bid.”
Participating does not require professional auction or resale experience.
Shoppers create a free account through HiBid, browse the available merchandise and review the photographs, description and stated condition of each item. When they find something they want, they enter the maximum amount they are comfortable spending.
HiBid can automatically bid on their behalf up to that amount. When the auction closes, the highest bidder wins, pays for the purchase and picks it up locally in Oldsmar.
Instead of being presented with one fixed price, bidders decide what each product is worth to them. They can participate from home, during a lunch break or anywhere they have access to their phone or computer.
Bidding starts at $5. Final purchase costs include applicable taxes and the buyer’s premium stated in the auction terms. Because merchandise conditions vary, bidders should carefully review the photographs, condition report and terms associated with each lot before bidding.
The auctions are open to families, homeowners, bargain hunters, small-business owners and resellers throughout Tampa Bay.
The launch gives local households another alternative to traditional retail shopping at a time when many families are paying closer attention to their budgets.
Shoppers remain in control of how much they are willing to spend. They can set a limit, follow the bidding and stop if the price rises above their budget.
The experience combines the convenience of online shopping with the excitement of an auction and the possibility of discovering valuable merchandise at liquidation prices.
Part of the appeal is that the inventory is always changing. One auction may include furniture, appliances and electronics, while the next could bring tools, toys, home goods, lawn and garden products or something completely unexpected.
If shoppers do not find what they want in the current auction, a new catalog will give them another opportunity to look.
The local pickup model also allows Tampa Bay residents to access this inventory without paying to have their purchases shipped from another part of the country.
ATX Auctions Tampa Bay also creates another productive use for returned and excess merchandise after it leaves a traditional retail store or fulfillment network.
A retail return is not automatically an unusable product. An item may have been opened, ordered in the wrong size, returned because someone changed their mind or removed from a retailer’s inventory to make room for new merchandise.
Suncoast evaluates merchandise according to its type, value and condition, then directs it into the sales channel where it has the best opportunity to find a new customer. The auction marketplace provides another way to connect useful products with local shoppers while giving that merchandise another opportunity to be used.
“There is tremendous value inside the retail returns system,” Miller said. “Our job is to give shoppers clear information and connect good products with people who can use them. When we do that well, families can save money, retailers recover value and useful merchandise gets another chance.”
The launch represents the next stage of growth for Suncoast Liquidators and introduces an entirely new way for the public to shop its inventory.
The company already serves consumers, resellers and wholesale buyers through its Oldsmar retail store, individual online sales, liquidation pallets and full truckload programs. ATX Auctions Tampa Bay adds an interactive, consumer-friendly auction experience to that family of services.
“This is more than adding another sales channel,” Miller said. “It is the beginning of something new for Suncoast and for shoppers in our community. We have spent years building the team, space and experience behind it, and now Tampa Bay can be part of it from the first auction. Every new catalog will bring different merchandise and a new reason to check back.”
The inaugural ATX Auctions Tampa Bay auction is open through Sept. 6, 2026.
