Radiant Church Secures Permanent Home for South Tampa After 12-Year Search

TAMPA, FL — After more than a decade of prayer, planning, and perseverance, Radiant Church has secured a permanent home for its South Tampa location, marking a major milestone in the church’s mission to move people toward Christ, community, and calling.

The church has purchased the former iHeartRadio building on Gandy Boulevard, a 50,000-square-foot facility situated on more than six acres of Gandy-front property, which will become the future home of Radiant Church South Tampa.

Radiant Church launched in September 2013 at the Britton Theater with a simple focus on reaching people and making disciples. What began as a single location has since grown into a multi-site church reaching more than 10,000 people each weekend across 11 locations throughout the Tampa Bay area.

For 12 years, every potential permanent building opportunity for South Tampa fell through. Despite the setbacks, Lead Pastor Aaron Burke and the church’s leadership team remained committed to prayer and trusting God for provision. That breakthrough ultimately came through an agreement with Alliant Developers, which acquired the full 12-acre Gandy property. More than half of the site will be dedicated to Radiant Church, while the remaining portion will be developed for future medical or retail use.

Radiant Church funded the purchase debt-free after years of disciplined saving, reflecting the church’s commitment to wise stewardship and generosity. Even while preparing for this acquisition, the church invested more than $2.5 million last year alone into local and global outreach and relief efforts—reinforcing that people, not property, remain the highest priority.

Construction on the new South Tampa campus is expected to begin soon, with an estimated 18–20 month timeline. Plans include a state-of-the-art auditorium seating more than 1,400 people, designed to serve as a place of hope, healing, and life change for generations to come.

“I want this to be a reminder that God is faithful and His timing is perfect,” said Pastor Aaron Burke. “We hope this story encourages others to believe that miracles are still possible.”

Radiant Church South Tampa will continue holding services at Britton Plaza through late 2027, when the plaza is scheduled to be demolished and redeveloped. While buildings are never the mission, they serve as powerful tools to better serve the community and share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
