TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – On November 13, 2025, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA) – the professional membership organization representing more than 13,500 osteopathic doctors (DOs) and medical students across Florida – announced that its Executive Board selected Michelle Winn Larson, CAE, CMP, as the association’s next Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Larson will succeed Steve Winn, as she steps into the role of overseeing the association.
With nearly 30 years of service to FOMA, Larson brings a deep expertise that will support FOMA’s mission to promote and advance the practice of osteopathic medicine across Florida.
Since joining FOMA in 1997, she has most recently served as Chief Operating Officer, where she played a pivotal role in the organization’s successful operations and continued growth. She also recently served as President of the Association of Osteopathic State Executive Directors (AOSED), supporting state societies and building collaboration with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and specialty organizations. Her dedication to the osteopathic profession has earned her numerous recognitions, including the FOMA Distinguished Service Award and an AOA Presidential Citation. Recently, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF), bringing her expertise in association management, event planning, and public relations to the national stage.

Thanks to her hard work, dedication to the profession, and vision, Michelle has expanded member services, reinforced positive relationships with our colleges of osteopathic medicine and osteopathic students, and strengthened FOMA’s financial and administrative position. I’m confident that under your leadership, the FOMA family will continue its storied record of success in serving the osteopathic profession well into the 21st century,” said retiring CEO Steve Winn.
Larson expressed her enthusiasm for stepping into the position, stating, “I look forward to leading our association and supporting our FOMA members as we guide the osteopathic profession into a future defined by excellence, strengthened advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare to Floridians.”
Larson’s appointment marks a new chapter for FOMA as the organization continues its work to advance osteopathic medicine, elevate physician leadership and patient care, and support the health and well-being of Florida’s communities. Under her leadership, FOMA is well-positioned for continued growth, innovation, and impact statewide.
