Florida-filmed supernatural thriller backed by viral cast with more than 45 million social media followers

Citrus Hills, FL — Dragonville Studios, the Florida-based independent film studio founded by the Tamposi family, announces the worldwide streaming release of Skinwalker Island on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and YouTube.

The film held its sold-out red-carpet world premiere at the Citrus Hills Golf & Country Club on November 21, 2025, following a production that showcased Florida’s natural beauty and filmmaking talent. Shot entirely across Citrus and Marion Counties, the movie uses the region’s haunting swamps, oak forests, and waterways to elevate its supernatural atmosphere.

A Southern-Gothic Florida Story

The movie follows siblings Lucy and Miles as they return to their family’s secluded island estate, only to stir a presence buried in the land’s history. Blending Southern Gothic tension with indie-horror style, the film explores themes of family inheritance, memory, belief, and the stories held within Florida’s soil.

“Florida’s swamps are alive with stories,” said Director Jon Carlo. “We wanted to capture that ancient stillness—the feeling that the land remembers. Skinwalker Island grew from the folklore that lives in this soil, where every shadow and ripple feels like it carries a secret.”

“We wanted to make a film that not only showcases the depth of local talent but also positions Florida as a serious hub for independent filmmaking,” said Producer Nicholas Tamposi. “The community support, the landscapes, and the energy here created something truly special.”

A Cast With Viral Reach

Skinwalker Island stars:
Jas Von, TooTurntTony, Oliver Tamposi, Raphael Coyotl, Krystal Xamairy, Cowboy Creech, Delwin Bazilme, and Katy Ching—an ensemble whose combined social media following exceeds 45 million, giving the film a uniquely modern and far-reaching promotional footprint.

Local Production, Statewide Pride

The production relied heavily on local crews, Ringling College of Art and Design graduates, and regional businesses, reinforcing Dragonville Studios’ commitment to building Florida’s independent film workforce and keeping creative jobs in the state.
