Alan Frenkel Auction and Realty

Chosen by His Peers, Defined by His Service: Alan Frenkel Inducted into the Florida Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame

Florida, April 13, 2026 — The Florida Auctioneers Association (FAA) has inducted Alan Frenkel of Alan Frenkel Auction & Realty into its Hall of Fame, honoring him with the Lewis C. Dell Lifetime Achievement Award at the FAA Conference on April 13, 2026. The award — the highest distinction the FAA bestows — is not selected by a committee of judges. It is chosen by peers. That distinction makes it among the most meaningful honors in the auction profession, and it is one that Frenkel’s colleagues say he has earned through more than three decades of unwavering professionalism, community impact, and service to the industry.

The award was presented by Gina Boyleston, CAI, AARE, AMM, who drew upon the testimony of those who nominated Frenkel to make the case — in their own words — for why he belongs among the profession’s elite.

The Voice of His Peers

“It is both a privilege and a professional obligation to recommend this auctioneer for induction into the Florida Auctioneers Hall of Fame,” one nominator wrote. “In an industry where longevity, integrity, innovation, and measurable impact define true distinction, he exemplifies all four at the highest level.”

The nominators described a professional whose influence stretches across every corner of the auction world — from complex real estate transactions and estate settlements to corporate asset dispositions and charitable fundraising. “With over three decades of hands-on experience — and more than 40 years of organizational legacy — he has built a reputation as one of Florida’s most trusted and results-driven auction professionals,” the nomination stated. “Whether working with families navigating estate transitions, corporations managing complex dispositions, or individuals selling their most valuable assets, he brings precision, empathy, and executional excellence to every engagement.”

Another peer, reflecting on nearly three decades of friendship and professional collaboration, wrote: “When I was FAA President, he volunteered to serve and handled these duties with seriousness and discretion. In the time since, he has served on the board for several terms and has chaired several committees, always making the association better. He has dedicated hundreds of hours to our association and represents us with professionalism and dignity.”

The nominators also cited Frenkel’s deep and sustained commitment to nonprofit fundraising throughout Florida — a contribution that has strengthened communities well beyond the auction floor. “He has assisted hundreds of nonprofit organizations in generating increased funding year after year, elevating not only the financial outcomes but also the professionalism and experience of fundraising auctions. His impact extends well beyond transactions. He has helped strengthen communities.”

The collective nomination concluded with words that capture what this honor truly represents: “His career is a model of sustained excellence, innovation, and service. His contributions have left a lasting imprint on the auction industry in Florida. He is, without question, deserving of induction into the Florida Auctioneers Hall of Fame.”

A Career Built on Results and Trust

Frenkel’s professional credentials reflect the same commitment to excellence that his peers describe. A licensed Florida auctioneer since June 1993 and a licensed Real Estate Broker since June 1996, he spent 21 years with Karlin Daniel and Associates before founding Alan Frenkel Auction & Realty in September 2014. Over more than twelve years leading his own firm, he has continued to set the standard for what client-centered auction service looks like. He holds the following professional designations through the National Auction Association: CAI, AARE, BAS, CES, and AMM — a testament to his lifelong commitment to professional development and mastery of his craft.

His academic foundation includes a degree from Iowa State University (May 1977) and formal auction training at the Reisch World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, Iowa (August 1983). Throughout his career, Frenkel has remained dedicated to staying at the forefront of auction marketing and strategy, ensuring his clients always have access to the most current and effective methods available.

Fun Fact: Before finding his voice as one of Florida’s most respected auctioneers, Frenkel spent two years in Paris studying mime — first under master teacher Etienne Decroux, then at L’École Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris Marcel Marceau. As presenter Gina Boyleston noted at the induction ceremony, the journey from non-speaking mime to fast-speaking auctioneer is “funny and ironic” — and a fitting origin story for someone whose ability to read a room and command an audience has defined his career.

Among his most celebrated results is the auction sale of a Florida golf course that exceeded its traditional real estate listing price by $4,000,000 — a result that saved his client from bankruptcy. It is the kind of outcome that defines Frenkel’s mission: bringing certainty, strategy, and tireless advocacy to clients at the most critical junctures of their lives.

“Alan Frenkel offers his clients the certainty that they are in the hands of someone who walks with them on their journey and makes sure that no stone is unturned in the quest to provide them with an efficient method of bringing the best return for their assets,” said a colleague. “He is always a value-added proposition to his clients’ projects and missions.”

A Legacy of Service and Generational Impact

Frenkel’s dedication to the auction profession extends beyond his client work. His years of board service, committee leadership, and mentorship within the FAA reflect a professional who has invested not only in his own success but in the strength and reputation of the entire industry. Those who have worked with him describe someone who shows up — for clients, for colleagues, and for the community — with consistency and integrity.

Adding to the richness of his legacy, Frenkel’s daughter has chosen to follow him into the auction profession, a generational passing of the torch that speaks to the depth of his influence and the respect he has cultivated over a lifetime of meaningful work.

In His Own Words

Upon receiving the Lewis C. Dell Lifetime Achievement Award, Frenkel reflected on what the recognition means to him:

“I am privileged and humbled by receiving the Lewis C. Dell Lifetime Achievement Award, mostly because of the recognition from my peers. It reflects my lifetime goal of leaving the auction industry better from my efforts. The most impactful awards have been the sighs of relief from an estate beneficiary putting their estate matters to rest and getting closure, a nonprofit trying to get a significant boost to the funds they need to carry out their missions, and the individuals we have served by allowing them to move unencumbered into the new chapters of their lives. I am honored by the Florida Auctioneers Association’s decision to place me shoulder to shoulder with the formidable auctioneers who I now share this award with.”
