To Convert Statutory Square Inch Rate to Column Inch Rate:
Rate multiplied by square inches per page (as computed above) = rate for full page. Example: $0.70 x 336 square inches = $235.20 full page rate based on square inch Now take your rate for full page divided by total column inches per page = column inch rate. Example: $235.20 divided by 168 = $1.40 column inch rate
To Convert From Picas to Inches:
Length of page in picas multiplied by width of page in picas = page in square picas. Example: 21 x 6 = length of page in picas; x 11 picas x 8 columns = width of page in picas (plus 1 pica between each column or 7 picas); length x width = 11,970 square picas Now take your total square picas divided by 36 (one square pica inch) = square inches per page Example: 11,970 divided by 36 = 332.5 square inches per page
