The Palatka (FL) Daily News is seeking a reporter to join its news team. This position will carry a regular beat and be responsible for a variety of general assignment hard and soft news stories. You should submit clean, fact-checked copy that captures the reader in the first two paragraphs. The ideal candidate will also enjoy and do well at in-depth work and series reporting.
The Daily News boasts a talented photographer, but reporters are required to take photos on occasion, so photography skills are a plus. Comfort with posting to social media is required. Applicants also need to have a creative eye for layout and be competent with InDesign.
Palatka is an historic city with Old Florida charm that lies along the banks of the St. Johns River. Palatka is a short drive from the beach, and St. Augustine, Gainesville and Jacksonville are all nearby.
