OPENING IN DELAND, FLORIDA
Working with the sales team and their clients, create engaging advertisements, fliers and documents that appear in print in two weekly newspapers that reach more than 17,000 households, along with special publications, and online on our popular website and social media. Also able to offer marketing support to the newspaper, especially in the digital realm.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Create engaging advertisements that entice readers to respond
• Accept paperwork and advertisement copy physically and electronically
• Make changes and corrections based on proofreader, feedback
• Send proofs of advertisements to sales rep and client
• Maintain file structure and filing system
• Correspond with coworkers and clients in person, by phone, and by email
• Contribute ideas for workflow and policies
• Contribute to a positive work environment
• Attend weekly staff meetings via Zoom or in-person
Qualifications:
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Distiller, or similar
• Minor or experience in marketing a plus
• Familiarity with advertisement-design techniques
• Available to work up to 40 hours a week
• Desire to contribute to a local newspaper
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of maintaining folders and paperwork
• Willingness to learn new systems
• Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time
• Positive attitude
