The Northwest Florida Daily News is seeking a dynamic reporter to champion our crime and justice beat. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated and digitally savvy. This candidate has the passion and skillset to dig deeper into issues defining crime and justice in Northwest Florida and is able to balance daily crime, court and breaking news coverage with strong storytelling and enterprise writing. Digital storytelling and public records expertise is required.

• This candidate must be able to cultivate sources among local and state agencies, advocacy groups, legal experts and others to break news and drive coverage.
• Candidates should have a proven record of breaking news, working with sources to develop stories and clear and engaging writing style.
• Experience in covering law enforcement and/or the courts preferred.
• Understanding of using social media and online tools to assist reporting.
