Adams Publishing Group is looking for the right person to lead our team of sales managers and sales consultants for the Sun Coast Media Group in Southwest Florida. The over 45,000 circulation newspapers and digital sites include the North Port Sun, Englewood Sun, Port Charlotte Sun, Punta Gorda Sun, Venice Gondolier and the Arcadian. Along with the newspapers SCMG has multiple robust magazines and free weeklies.
The right leader will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans and working shoulder to shoulder with our sales professionals to exceed revenue goals and bring our advertising and marketing partners positive results. We seek an aggressive leader who can achieve our company goals and promote sales growth across all channels. We are a community driven company with a focus on local businesses. Our goal is to help small to medium size businesses build an effective brand and ring their cash registers.
The Advertising Director reports directly to the Publisher. As a senior leader, this person will be involved in major strategic decisions and be directly responsible for growing revenue through our mix of media products and other advertising and marketing solutions. The Advertising Director will manage, hire, train and develop management talent to support needs of the sales teams. The right candidate has a proven history as a street warrior, is unafraid of a challenge and wants to win. This is a great opportunity for someone to make a significant positive impact on advertiser engagement, revenue and profitability for the company. We are looking for an idea person who knows how to tie print and digital together and can work with other departments to maximize revenue opportunities.

Strong digital sales background with a proven success record.
Develops sales strategy, annual sales plans and forecasts in support of the organization’s goals.
Directs implementation and execution of sales plans, policies, and practices.
A positive and energetic leader with a strong sense of urgency to create a sustainable winning culture.
Strong leader with demonstrated success in leading cross-functional business initiatives.
Proven success of problem-solving and priority setting, interpreting data to identify problems, identify market trends and draw valid conclusions to create a successful business plan.
Strong strategic thinker who will help maintain and enhance our position as a leader in the marketplace through developing innovative products, solutions and achieving profitable growth.
Strong record of hiring, managing and creating a culture of accountability and revenue success.
Accomplished sales person with 6+ years in media sales or related leadership.
Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
