Media Masterminds are starting to gather in Florida

LAKE MARY, FLORIDA – A new group of emerging media leaders are gathering.

Media Masterminds is the brainchild of a group of journalists and advertising representatives who have been meeting as a part of the Florida Press Foundation Derek Dunn-Rankin Leadership program.

The initial concept was to create a young professional’s group for Florida residents involved in a media career. It is hoping to bring together professionals from broadcast, print and digital news operations. It will host online meetings with speakers and life lessons for media professionals.

”I am eager to create an active network of young media talent across the state of Florida to excite them about how we are evolving as a media industry. This new network of influencers will help our young media professionals connect, inspire, innovate, and learn and grow from each other,” Media Masterminds president Christopher Dosa said.

The Media Masterminds board currently consists of Chris Dosa, who is a media strategist with Intersect Media; Kaitie Meyer, a community news reporter and sales representative for Navarre Press; Patrick Power, with D.R. Media based in Lakeland; and Scott Lawson, managing editor for The Daily Sun and Venice Gondolier, based in Charlotte Harbor.

Media Masterminds plans on hosting several events this spring and summer online – and will host seminars at the annual Florida Media Conference, this year set for Aug. 4-5 at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra.
