Outside Sales Representative

***This position is located in the Florida Keys in Marathon, FL.**

The Keynoter Publisher in Marathon, Fl is seeking an Outside Sales Representative. Grow the retail-advertising business. Develop and achieve revenue goals/budget; develop initiatives to grow the business and develop integrated marketing plans to make use of both Keynoter Publishing and MHMC’s portfolio of products to meet the specific needs of advertisers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Consults with customers in geographic assignment for the purpose of selling advertising solutions and achieving personal and company revenue goals
  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their needs and ability to buy advertising
  • Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
  • Creates and executes comprehensive advertising campaigns for advertisers.
  • Maintains and develops relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails; by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new advertising opportunities
  • Conducts prospecting to arrange meetings with potential customers for new business.
  • Responds in a timely manner to incoming email and phone inquiries.
  • Acts as a contact between the customer and our company.
  • Negotiates agreements with clients and while closing sales.
  • Targets competitive media for prospects throughout the assignment
  • Achieves monthly and annual revenue and product goals in print, digital and magazine.
  • Expand share of advertising market by reducing the amount of money our accounts are spending in competitive media. Builds new business.
  • Makes accurate, rapid cost calculations and provides customers with quotations.
  • Attends team meetings and shares best practice with colleagues.
  • Submits weekly sales reports and is able to report on account activity, sales history and target accounts as needed.
  • Assists in the collection of hard-copy advertising material when necessary
  • Assists in the collection of unresolved account balances when their accounts are past due
  • Travel with sales manager/Publisher to learn and receive timely, constructive feedback
  • Set and achieve personal sales goals by planning and organizing time and creative sales strategies.
  • Effectively solve problems when needed.
  • Effectively operates within the 3 primary Sales programs; Ad Booker,Xpance, and Breeze. Minimizes adjustments and errors while ordering ads, submitting creative or in creative trafficking
  • Process ad payments in Ad Booker and set up new accounts through MH Finance
  • Process all digital advertising through Keynoter Digital Operations manager
  • Adheres to all Keynoter policy standards.
  • Involves self in market/industry associations, activities, etc. Attend networking events sponsored by Chamber, Rotary or other similar organizations.
  • Explores new revenue streams for the company in terms of innovation or new products or enhancing current products
  • Contribute sales to initiatives like special sections, web and magazine advertising.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education – College degree preferred, or equivalent related experience in marketing or sales.
  • Experience – 1-2 years sales experience.
  • Skills/Knowledge – Strong marketing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
