Local Client Solutions Account Executive

The Local Client Solutions Account Executive is responsible for sales growth in a defined category of business or geographic territory. Sales are achieved through educated prospecting, following a deliberate sales process, and presenting - then closing - digitally-led, multi-media advertising solutions. This rep manages and up-sells existing accounts as well as handling administrative duties that are vital to accurate order fulfillment and billing.

Primary Responsibilities:
·Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Miami Herald, el Nuevo Herald, MiamiHerald.com and other digital products, rates and policies. Read and be familiar with MH content on various platforms. Seek out pertinent competitive media information to facilitate taking market share from other media outlets.
·Achieve digital and bottom-line revenue goals monthly and annually
·Prospect for new accounts face-to-face and by telephone and email. Target and build relationships with clients based on growth potential, with emphasis on digital solutions.
·Identify and cold call prospective new business within identified categories of opportunity
·Develop action plans and participate in developing sophisticated proposals and presentations. Review proposals with Sales Manager before presenting.
·Present proposals and answer client questions with confidence and skill.
·Actively participate in all Advertising training and apply the learning in day-to-day practices.
·Collaborate with other departments – Marketing, AdLab, etc., in order to maximize business opportunities.
·Submit weekly sales reports explaining the past week’s sales activities: contracts signed and re-signed, expired contracts, number of appointments, letters and proposals written.
·Perform advertising duties necessary for processing ad sales, such as insertion orders, instructions, workflow and advertiser records.
·Assure that advertising transactions are in accordance with Credit and Customer Relations standards and policies.
·Work on other duties and projects, as assigned.

·B.A. or B.S. Degree in sales, business, or marketing preferred.
·Proven successful experience in outside sales required.
·Publishing, advertising or media experience a plus.
·Requires solid consultative selling, presentation, and communication skills.
·Ability to sell various online and print products.
·Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
·Must have interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction at all organizational levels and in the community.
·Google experience helpful.
